The biggest winner of them all? The internet — because through all of these moments, Black Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and ClubHouse remain undefeated.
From wellness sessions, to all-access interviews with our favorite celebrities, our Blackness was on display — and it was beautiful.
"There's a compulsion in anyone who's creative to be inspired by these moments…to create something that is a reflection of what you're feeling," he says of the inspiration behind the docuseries.
Hollywood looked at Black movies "as a cute little project," the actor said recently.
“It was hard to get this done, but we all held hands and said we're going to do it and it happened,” said co-showrunner Janine Sherman Barrios.
It's safe to say the accomplished actor hasn't skipped a single trip to the gym.
"It took me a lot of time growing up to be able to feel confident in myself and feel like who I am was OK," she tells ESSENCE.
"You pray for forgiveness," Rashad tells ESSENCE.
"It's a lot to be grateful for because as an actor, you could do any number of things that have no meaning to anyone," Phylicia Rashad told ESSENCE last week.
