Are you ready for the long weekend?! Friday has always been one of our favorite days since it’s the last day of the work week and it means a brand new ESSENCE Playlist.

This week’s playlist runs the gamut. We’ve got a new podcast from Netflix, Cardi B and Bruno Mars’ new single, and Lloyd teaming up with City Girls.

Netflix has gotten into the podcast game! The streaming giant’s Strong Black Lead team is celebrating Black entertainment legends with its new podcast, Strong Black Legends, kicking things off with actress Lynn Whitfield. Hosted by Tracy Clayton, this is not something you want to miss.

2. Zaena x Jason Maek – “I Do This Sh*t”

Teaming up with Instagram, duo  Zaena and Jason Maek have dropped the new video and single for “I Do This Sh*t.” Fusing hip-hop and R&B, the song explores the limits of love with smooth vocals and a vivid video.

3. Lloyd feat. City Girls – “Caramel”

We never knew we need Lloyd and City Girls to team up until we heard “Caramel,” a song that plays to both the singer and rap duos strengths.

4. PJ Morton feat. JoJo – “Say So”

Grammy winner PJ Morton and singer JoJo team up for “Say So,” a soulful single that asks a lover to reveal their true feelings.

5. Ciara – “Greatest Love”

Ciara is back and she’s giving us legs, choreo, and R&B! With “Greatest Love,” Ciara celebrates the ride or die love we’re all seeking.

6. Cardi B and Bruno Mars – “Please Me”

Bruno Mars and Cardi B have delivered once again! After the success of “Finesse (Remix),” the duo have come together for “Please Me,” a steamy single that will, hopefully, have an even steamier video.

7. Leah Jenea – “Gold Ring”

Leah Jenea has followed up last month single, “Stick to the Promises,” with a soulful new tune, “Gold Ring.” With this new single, Jenea has her eyes on the prize.
