• Rising star Frank Ocean has been nominated for Outstanding Music Artist at this year’s GLAAD Media Awards. He’s in a category alongside Adam Lambert, Scissor Sisters and Rufus Wainwright. “This year’s nominees enlighten and entertain, but also reflect a new American landscape where a growing majority accept and value their LGBT family, colleagues and friends,” said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick. The event takes place in three various ceremonies across the country—New York on March 16, Los Angeles on April 20 and San Francisco on May 11. [BET]
• Former Miss America Erica Dunlap is crying racism this morning after attending a recent competition. Dunlap claims a producer forced her to move her seat and mistreated her because she was black. She refused to move because, “I was spoken to as if I didn’t matter. If I were any other Miss America, I would have never been spoken to like that. But I’m the only black one who comes back.” Dunlap says she was physically removed from the seat. She does not plan to sue, but would like an apology. However, TMZ claims she was already sitting in the incorrect seat. [TMZ]
• Conrad Bain, who played the father on the hit ’70s show Different Strokes, has died at 89. According to the Associated Press, Bain died of natural causes in his hometown of Livermore, California. He is survived by three children: Jennifer, Kent and Mark. Funeral announcements have not been made. [Associated Press]
