Keke Palmer's Boyfriend Had Her Take 10 Tests When They Found Out She Was Pregnant: 'All Positive'

After she misinterpreted the first test as being negative, she took a bunch of tests back to back to confirm the news.

Keke Palmer recently shared with her fans and followers the very interesting way she found out she was expecting her first child. She spilled the hilarious tea alongside boyfriend Darius Jackson on her new podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer.

“It’s so funny because how I found out was Darius,” she said. “Randomly, I was just feeling that I could be pregnant. Like the period thing didn’t even happen yet. Maybe this is the time.”

She continued, “So I took the test, and it came back negative … I didn’t have the lines on there, so I just threw it in the trash.”

The NOPE star shared that afterward, she went out with a friend for dinner and drinks when she received a text from her beau, asking her when she took the pregnancy test along with a photo of it being positive.

“I didn’t wait long enough!” Palmer admitted. “And I’m like, ‘I took that earlier today, like literally just some hours before I left out.’ And he said, ‘Well, you better get to be drinking water in your sight. Cause I’m buying 10 of these things right now. You take them all when you get home.'”

When she got home from her dinner, she took 10 pregnancy tests, and yes, all 10 of them came back with the same positive result.

Jackson chimed in to tell his part of the story. “I was not digging in the trash can,” he clarified. “The cleaning lady, she just emptied out the trash. So, when I went to the bathroom, I only just see one item inside the trash, and it was the pregnancy test. Then I just see the line, and it was not even faint. It was a very thin line, solid straight.”

According to Jackson, the event was straight out of a “rom-com movie” as he hurried to Target to buy several pregnancy tests.

“We had them lined up. I had like, two, three bottles of water ready for Keke when she came back, drinking a bunch of water,” he recalled. “And then during the next two hours, [the tests] just kept [being] positive, positive, positive, positive.”

The world first officially found out about Palmer and Jackson’s exciting pregnancy news when she made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live in December 2022.

“There’s some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,'” she said during her monologue, “and I wanna set the record straight. I am!”

She emphatically ripped open her coat to reveal her pregnant belly in perfect dramatic fashion.

“I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you y’all, but it’s even worse when they’re correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?” she continued. “But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I’m going to be a mom.”

The couple is presently getting ready for their bundle of love. They’ve gone on a babymoon, planned an epic baby shower, released fabulous maternity photos on Instagram, and picked out a name for their unborn child.

On her podcast, the star gave some early insight into the thought process behind her baby boy’s name, although the couple has chosen not to reveal it yet.

“We’re not saying the name, but the name for us, it gives American. It gives Black American storyline,” Palmer said. “We’re not going for anything too unique. It’s not about to be Stone and Sand. It’s just like a nice natural [name].”

We look forward to the baby’s arrival!
