That Quincy Jones ‘Vulture’ Interview
Back in February, Vulture published a pretty wild conversation with music legend Quincy Jones, in which he stated that Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando once had an affair. He also claimed to have dated Ivanka Trump. Later, in an interview with GQ, Jones admitted to having 22 girlfriends around the world. He later issued an apology after his daughters took him aside for a “family intervention.”
Kanye West. Enough Said.
West’s love for Donald Trump has been mind-boggling for some fans and the rapper’s love for the Tangerine-In-Chief culminated in a bizarre White House visit this year. West later distanced himself from Trump and politics altogether, tweeting, “I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!”
And, Kanye’s Slavery Comments
Drake’s Secret Son
Depending on how much you’re into the world of blind items and celebrity gossip, Drake having a secret child probably came as no surprise. However, Pusha T’s diss track “Story Of Adidon” set the timeline ablaze the minute it dropped. The cover for the track also featured Drake in blackface, which the Canadian rapper later explained was for a photo shoot that “represented how African Americans were once wrongfully portrayed in entertainment.”
Cardi B And Nicki Minaj’s Fashion Week Fight
The beef between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj turned physical in September when the two got into it during New York Fashion Week. Cardi apparently lunged at Minaj and threw a shoe after claiming that the rapper was disrespecting her newborn daughter. Luckily, security stepped between the two. Minaj said later that the moment was “mortifying” and “humiliating.”
Dame Dash Asking Lee Daniels To Pay Up
Dame Dash rolled up on Lee Daniels earlier this year during an event at the Hollywood Bowl, where he confronted the filmmaker about settling a $5 million debt. A lawsuit followed, but things were quickly resolved when Daniels made good on his promise to settle the issue.
Erykah Badu “Saw Something Good In Hitler”
In another wild interview from Vulture, singer Erykah Badu claimed to see the good in everyone, even Hitler. The singer said, “I see good in everybody. I saw something good in Hitler,” before calling the Nazi Party leader a “wonderful painter” who had a “terrible childhood.” Badu also made questionable comments about Bill Cosby and known anti-semitic Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. She later clarified her comments, stating that they had been “misconstrued.”
