On March 7th, ESSENCE presented their 17th annual Black Women In Hollywood Awards. From the boardroom to the box office, BWIH is a celebration of Black power on both the big and small screen. Needless to say, this year’s ceremony was no different. The evening was devoted to this year’s honorees– including The Little Mermaid’s Halle Bailey and The Color Purple’s Danielle Brooks– and all the Black women delivering ceiling-breaking performances in TV and Film. Guests arrived on the red carpet– where we saw Zendaya’s trendy bob and Ms. Tina Knowles in a red velvet lip– before being seated for the Method Man-hosted luncheon. Before parting ways, the attendees were gifted with a goodie bag as a token of our gratitude.
