Tameka Foster says she is not blaming ex-husband Usher for the near-death pool accident that hospitalized their five-year-old son last week.

Foster, who lost her son Kile Glover in a jet ski accident just last year, told Good Morning America Wednesday that the call she got about her son Usher Raymond V almost drowning took her back to a dark place. She also says although she does not believe Usher is at fault for the incident, she is angry that it happened at his home and that she was not there to protect their son.

“I said, ‘I’ve had this call before,'” said Foster. “I didn’t blame him for it. I was just angry that it happened on his watch. Never have my children been injured on my watch.”

After the pool incident occured, Foster attempted to get emergency custody of she and Usher’s two sons.

“When the incident happened, my attorney filed an emergency motion so that my son, when he was released from the hospital, wasn’t going back to the house where this happened,” Foster said.

Foster notes that as an artist Usher is often away from home, leaving the children in the care of family and other caretakers, and believes they should instead be left with her.

“I’d like to have my fist right of refusal, which means when he is not present, the kids come home with their mom,” she said.

Foster was denied full custody of the two children by a judge Friday, allowing Usher to remain their primary guardian. Usher Raymond V was released from an Atlanta hospital Tuesday and is recovering well.
