August Alsina shared on Wednesday that he is “utterly devastated” by the loss of his beloved sister, Chandra.
“We lost such a beautiful soul on Christmas Night To the battle with cancer. I am Utterly devastated & Deeply shattered!” he wrote in a caption on Instagram. “Not only for myself, but for my 3 little nieces, whom are now robbed of BOTH parents. First they killed [her partner] Mel, Now Cancer has stolen you. What is life? Why is life? Why is THIS life?”
The singer-songwriter paired the caption with a slide show on Instagram, featuring sweet moments between the two, such as the late Chandra braiding his hair and pictures of them spending time together.
Distraught, Alsina revealed that the loss had deeply shaken his faith.
“I’m calling on God for the answers. I don’t question God but THIS I’m not in agreement with,” he wrote.
The “Song Cry” singer also revealed that his sister had asked him to step in and care for his nieces if she passed away, but Alsina admitted he’s going to need help.
“Before you left You asked me to guard & raise these girls, & I promise you I don’t even know where to begin,” he admitted. “I am at a lost & am desperately craving and crazing to be found, so please send some signs, help us out.”
“Lord knows I’m still raising myself, but I guess it’s officially official…I’m a DAD now & I have 3 daughters, & i don’t know the slightest thing about it or where to start but unfortunately I/we know loss too well,” Alsina continued.
