[SOUND] [MUSIC] Hey guys, I'm Malcolm Diggs, Creative Director and Designer. I'm calling the collection M. Diggs NYC. My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was 12. And from then on I was just struck by the fashion bug. I'm extremely nervous. This is my first hello presentation so I'm really excited. My inspiration was pop stars. If I was a designer for Rihanna or Beyonce, like what would their tour outfits look like? So this was where I got the inspiration from. This look right here in particular, the denim two piece with the long Long mesh in the boots. That's definitely Rihanna all day. Beyonce will probably do this off the shoulder jumpsuit with the jacket. I think she would definitely rock that. My custom is definitely the eclectic. They wanna stand out in the room when they walk in. They have the Lenny Kravitz, the Jill Scotts, and Erykah Badus The world. Lauren Hill wore one of my pieces it was amazing! I listened to her music growing up so to see her wearing something of mine was phenomenal. Definitely being a designer of color having people to support you is really hard. So that how I wanted to have most of my models of color. I want to see M Diggs on tour, on someone's tour somewhere. And definitely I want to open my boutique. Hopefully somewhere in New York, and experiment. [MUSIC]

Fashion Designer Malcolm Diggs Wants To Dress Your Favorite Music Artists

New York City-based fashion designer Malcolm Diggs has spent the past several years growing his signature collection, M. Diggs. The edgy-yet-chic line of streetwear is been worn by stars like Lauryn Hill and Fantasia Barrino. That’s not too shabby for an up-and-coming brand, but Diggs has bigger dreams — namely dressing the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna. Check out his Spring/Summer 2017 collection in the video above and see if you think he has what it takes.
