Tomi Lahren Benefits From Obamacare, But She Still Wants It Dismantled

What kind of selfish dualism is this?
Tomi Lahren Benefits From Obamacare
Michael Schwartz
By Christina Coleman · Updated October 26, 2020

Tomi Lahren is proving once again that she is willing to uphold White mediocrity in the GOP, even at her own expense.

The former host at The Blaze — who was fired after she admitted she was pro-choice on The View — garnered many a side eye after she bashed the Affordable Care Act in an interview with comedian Chelsea Handler at Politicon, then revealed that she benefits from the health care law.

“I believe it’s my right to purchase health care, I don’t believe it’s my right to pay for it for other people,” Lahren said during the exchange on Saturday. “We need to find alternatives — what we have now is not working. What we had before Obamacare wasn’t working.”

But when asked by Handler if she herself had a health care plan, Lahren was forced to fess up.

“Well luckily, I’m 24, so I am still on my parents’ [plan]” Lahren replied. “That’s exactly what I’m saying. To say there are things from Obamacare that are not positive, that’s not true.”

Let’s be clear — benefiting from Obamacare isn’t the crime. In fact, more than 10 million Americans benefit from the 2010 law, many being dependents who are allowed to stay on their parents’ plans until age 26. But it’s Lahren’s willingness to shoot herself in the foot to uphold the GOP’s nonexistent health care plan — which includes a repeal of the ACA, a move that could push the number of uninsured to 32 million by 2026 — that’s the real tragedy. Lahren is willing to place herself, and millions of Americans, in danger to support the misguided agenda of the GOP — a party hellbent on controlling women’s wombs, demonizing the poor and upholding institutions of systemic racism.

She often forgets that she is a woman, one who stands to be affected by the policies thrown around in this new administration. But we imagine that means nothing if you are Tomi Lahren. Because when did facts ever matter to her?
