Whether you wallow in wedded bliss or you’re satisfyingly single, consider taking part in the celebration of successful Black love. Black Marriage Day, observed on March 22, is a day to reflect, rejoice and restore. The theme for this year’s BMD is “First Comes Love: Guiding Our Youth to Marriage,” which aims to encourage participants to illustrate to today’s generation the importance and sanctity of healthy marriages and relationships.
The Wedded Bliss Foundation urges African-Americans across the country to take matters in their own hands when taking part is the dedicatory occasion. Blackmarriageday.com recommends hosting an event for your family and friends, inducting couples into the Black Marriage Day Hall of Fame, or opening up dialogue with young adults about marriage. -PSS
