The Love & War Chronicles: 'Mr. Right'

How do you define your "Mr. Right"? Is it in the way he dresses? Is it what he does for a living? Is it about his looks? Is it how much money he makes?   I am sure that if I asked any of you it would be one of those criterion and some others that you have for a man to meet your standards. But do you really know what makes a man "the one" or do you hold a high standard that no man may ever be able to meet? The simple fact is that no one is perfect, male or female. That being said, perfection, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder... For more of Raheem DeVaughn's "Love & War Chronicles," click here. How do you define your “Mr. Right”? Is it in the way he dresses? Is it what he does for a living? Is it about his looks? Is it how much money he makes?   I am sure that if I asked any of you it would be one of those criterion and some others that you have for a man to meet your standards. But do you really know what makes a man “the one” or do you hold a high standard that no man may ever be able to meet? The simple fact is that no one is perfect, male or female. That being said, perfection, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.   With so much emphasis on not settling, it seems that we get confused about what settling really means. Settling is not necessarily a bad thing. People tend to take it as “losing something in order to gain something else. That does not have to be the case. Instead of using the word “settling”, we should actually be using the word “compromising.” Truth be told, in determining what you want and who you want to be with, you will be compromising in certain areas. It can be in the area of appearance, or occupation or maybe even certain personality characteristics, but no one person can have everything. You should also keep in mind that while there are things that you are settling for with your mate, there will be things that they will be settling for as well. It is not to say that you are not up to par, but it is to say that what they see in you is greater than what they don’t.   If you are going to believe in the fairy tale of “Mr. Right,”  then you need to keep everything in perspective. Know the things that make you happy. Know the things that enable and/or hinder your growth. Know the things that enhance your life and lastly, know that if you have found the man that possesses the tools and desires to do all of those things for you, you have succeeded in finding your Mr. Right.   “Mr Right”   Verse 1   Hold up let me stop you there before you go further I know you that you been hearing that I aint no good I’m a player, Im a flirt, a heartbreaker it won’t work Don’t you date him you’ll get hurt Oh girl Yes I did my dirt back then I’m all cleaned up and ready for love Don’t stop before we start it Baby let me show you where my heart is   Chorus   If you let me be your Mr. Right I won’t turn into your Mr. Right now Let me be the one to treat your right Girl I promise I won’t let you down I’m Mr. Right (Right Now) I can be your Mr. Right (Right Now) Let me be your Mr. Right (Right Now) Im’a be your Mr. Right (Right Now)   Verse 2   Now wait you don’t have to worry bout yesterdays Cuz everything subjected to change See I been there done that I changed up my act I aint going back Oh girl Yes I did my dirt But I done cleaned the old me up Don’t stop before we start it I’m just tryna show you where my heart is     Chorus   If you let me be your Mr. Right (Right Now)   Bridge   I wanna shower you with all your wishes Work you with my kisses I want to be our Mr. Right Now And want you to be my misses For every new tomorrow Season after Season I cant think of a better reason To wanna be a changed man   Chorus   If you let me be your Mr. Right (Right Now) Read More:
