Every day we feature the beloved “Strawberry Letter” franchise that is so popular on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” heard nationwide. Send in your letters and Shirley Strawberry will dish out the necessary advice. Today’s topic: Letting go and moving on Dear Ms. Shirley and Mr.Steve, I’m a 25-year-old mother of one. I’m college educated, have a wonderful job, my own place, etc. Here’s my situation — about six years ago, I was in a committed relationship with the father of my child. I found out I was pregnant with our son right after graduating with my Masters in Nursing. When I told him I was pregnant he moved out, went and had a relationship with my sorority sister and just left me there to go through this pregnancy by myself. Six months into my pregnancy he tried to put his hands on me. Let’s just say that I was the one who almost got arrested. Now that our son is born he wants to do the family thing and I don’t want that. He is a wonderful dad spiritually, physically and financially, but I’m happy with where our relationship is now. So how do I let go of something I worked so hard for in the past to get? Please help me. May God Bless, Ms. Collins
