Today’s topic: My mom is an alcoholic Dear Steve, I want to tell you that my mom likes to celebrate my birthdays. It’s fun and cool but it scares me because every time she drinks, even one bottle, she gets drunk and she gets very aggressive with my grandpa and he’s 82 years old. She yells, hits and breaks stuff. Even at the parties that aren’t mine, it’s embarrassing and really sad for me. I just wish that there could be one party that she wouldn’t do that at. Most of her friends have not gone to any of our parties because she throws them out of the house. Please, I don’t want to call the police. Trust me that I almost called the police but me grandpa didn’t let me. He calmed me down. I also want to take her to a doctor but she doesn’t want to get help. The next day, she never remembers what happened the day before. Please help me. My birthday is coming up and I don’t want the same thing to happen every time. Give me an answer.
