Today’s topic: My 5-year-old son is a terror! Dear Steve and Morning Crew, I am a single mom with a 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. My children are as opposite as day and night. My daughter is on the 3rd grade honor roll and my son is also smart, but his behavior is horrible! His kindergarten teacher has called me at work 3 times this month, so I can talk to him because he won’t listen to her. I spank him on his naked backside until, when I’m done, I feel like I’ve been whooped. The letters home and calls to work continue. I’ve even had the ministers at church pray for him, the prayer lasted for at least five minutes, hands layed on him from head to foot and this kid still acts up. His dad is not in his life, he might see him 3 times a year. I know he needs a male influence in his life but it is what it is. Steve, I know you have a mentoring program for young men so I would appreciate some serious advice.
