Today’s topic: My Man, My Minister
Dear Shirley and Steve,
My minister and I dated for 13 months. In the beginning of our relationship he was a perfect gentleman and the man of my dreams, or so I thought. We both decided that we would keep our relationship private, due to the simple reason that our business was our business. As time progressed he would call me by his last name and call me the First Lady and that God told him I would be his wife. As time passed he wanted to introduce sex into our relationship. I hesitated for a while, and when I finally decided to go forward with it, I got pregnant. I miscarried our child at 8 weeks, I called him and he never even came to see about me. When I was back on my feet he acted as if nothing happened. I called off our relationship and I have started casually dating and now I get phone calls from him every day and gifts and asking me if he can come see me. I let him know that I no longer have that desire to be with him, and he is now interfering with my casual dates. I thought of leaving the church, but it is a part of my family history and he has only been there for three years. What should I do?
