Designers may have sent fewer models of color down the runway, but this season we can still look forward to seeing fresh faces in beauty and fashion campaigns. Solange has officially been signed on as a the face of UK-based beauty company, Rimmel London (along with Puerto Rican model Alejandra Ramos Munoz and actress Zooey Deschanel). Renato Semerari, president of Coty Beauty, which owns Rimmel London told WWD that Solange, Munoz and Deschanel “will help ensure that Rimmel London’s image continues to be modern and globally relevant.” That’s industry speak for “we’re getting more poeple of color in here to expand our reach,” we imagine. Brit singer Leona Lewis has also signed on as the face of the cotton industry’s “Fabric of our Lives” campaign. Expect to see Leona’s ads during primetime shows.
