Skylar Diggins’ latest collaboration with Nike includes her own shoe and a tribute to her mother all at the same time.
Nike recently unveiled The WNBA star’s new Nike Hyperrev PE, where Skylar pays homage to her mother Renee with the phrase “you do you,” written on the inside midfoot strap.
The phrase is signed with momma Skylar’s nickname for her daughter, “Shug.”

Skylar cites her mother as her biggest influence who led by example to teach her the importance of hard work.
“Growing up, my mom was my biggest role model – the biggest influence that I had,” Skylar told Nike. “She showed me the epitome of what I wanted to be as a woman when I grew up, and showed me what hard work was like.” She says she wanted to include the phrase on the shoes as a reminder of her mother’s encouraging words that have helped carry her throughout her career in professional sports and in life.
