She’s done it again!

Serena Williams has won her second French Open trophy, beating out defending champion Maria Sharapova for the title.

With a 6-4, 6-4 victory, the 31-year-old now holds the record for the oldest woman’s champion since tennis turned professional in 1968.

In the July issue ESSENCE, the cover star said she feels like she’s in the best shape of her life.

“I feel lighter, I feel healthier, and even though I’m 31—which really isn’t old, but for an athlete, particularly a tennis player, it’s old—I promise you, my body has never felt better. Considering how much I’ve played and how much I’ve done, I feel fine. I’m strong,” she said.

And strong she is, indeed. The next stop for the 5-foot-9-inch, 155-pound beauty is Wimbledon.
