The 26-year-old actress, who made her debut on Broadway with the Boys Choir of Harlem at the tender age of five, will be replacing Patina Miller as Deloris Van Cartier, the character made famous by Whoopi Goldberg in the movie, “Sister Act.”
Symone begins rehearsals in late February and is expected to make her debut in late March with a run of at least six months.
Broadway is the place to be this season as the likes of Alicia Keys (who produced “Stick Fly,”), Angela Bassett and Samuel L. Jackson (who starred in “The Mountaintop.”) earn rave reviews in theater.
