Radio personality Tom Joyner has offered Trayvon Martin’s friend, Rachel Jeantel, a full scholarship to any Historically Black College or University of her choice.

Joyner, who said Jeantel’s testimony left a lasting impact on him, spoke to the teenager Tuesday Morning on his radio show.

“If you want to graduate from high school, and go to an HBCU…I want to help you do that. I will help you get tutors to get you out of high school, tutors to help you pass the SAT and I will give you a full ride scholarship to any HBCU you’d like.”

Jeantel thanked Joyner for his generousity and shared her interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement.

Only hours before, she also visited CNN’s Piers Morgan Live to express her disappointment with George Zimmerman’s acquittal.

Morgan asked the prosecution star witness her thoughts on being mocked for her appearance and speech on the stand. She explained that she had a speech impediment and said that people can’t relate to the place she and Trayvon Martin come from.

Jeantel was the last person to speak with Martin before Zimmerman murdered the 17-year-old on February 26, 2012.

When asked whether she knew Martin to be violent, she said although he smoked marijuana recreationally, it never made him violent.

“Weed don’t make him go crazy,” she shared. “It makes him go hungry.”

Jeantel refused to share her thoughts on Zimmerman’s lawyer, Don West. Instead she said she was raised well and simply responded, “he’s lucky I’m a Christian.”
