Pregnant British citizen Samantha Orobator, 20, made international headlines when she was at risk for being shot to death with her unborn child after being sentenced for drug smuggling in Laos. The young Black woman was spared the death sentence, but yesterday was sentenced to life in prison for allegedly smuggling heroin, according to CNN. She was jailed last August, leaving speculation on how she became pregnant. She told her mother she was not raped and the child was not by a prison official.
