Bigots and people who have probably never cracked open a book are fuming right now following news that Black Lives Matter will not be labeled a terrorist organization.

A petition, launched earlier this month on the White House’s official petitioning platform, called for Black Lives Matter to be considered a terrorist organization compared to the likes of ISIS. Over 141,000 people signed the petition, but thankfully, the petition was dismissed. In its response, which also included quotes from statements Obama made last week on race relations, the White House stated:

“The White House plays no role in designating domestic terror organizations. The U.S. government does not generate a list of domestic terror organizations, and therefore we are not able to address the formal request of your petition. We encourage you to engage with your community in the ongoing discussion of how we can better build trust and safety in our communities.”

Welp, you tried it.
