
Broadway musical After Midnight is set to get the diva treatment as Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole prepare to join the cast.
The trio will join the stellar roster of “special guest star” vocalists for the show this summer.
After Midnight, the glamorous Tony-nominated tale of Duke Ellington’s years at the cotton club during the height of the Jazz Age, features 25 performances from dancers and vocalists and is set against a narrative of Langston Hughes’ poetry.
Toni Braxton, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Fantasia and Vanessa Williams have all led the musical in previous months.
Ms. Labelle’s stint will take place from June 10-29, Gladys Knight will hit the stage July 8 through August 3 and Natalie Cole will make her Broadway debut August 5-31.
