According to our favorite daytime talk queen, “you either give big or you go home!” In her latest venture, “Oprah’s Big Give,” ten contestants are challenged to make dreams come true with money supplied to them.
Last February, Harpo producers went on a four-city tour in search of the most competitive and creative folks who wanted to pay-it-forward. Hosted by designer and Oprah Show regular, Nate Berkus, “Big Give” takes us to a different city each week where contestants will be faced with completing tasks based around the needs of each community. Oprah assembled a panel of celebrity philanthropists to choose the “biggest giver.” The panel includes: Tony Gonzales, NFL tight end; Malaak Compton Rock, wife of comedian/actor Chris Rock and founder of styleWORKS; and Jamie Oliver, world-famous chef and British TV personality. The last person standing is set to receive an undisclosed “prize”.
“It’s always fun for me to be able to give and to watch people’s reactions,” Oprah has said. “I love a great surprise. There are many moments that will leave you in tears of joy.” Tune in to ABC this Sunday, March 2 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), for Oprah’s reality show debut.
