City Council members demanded that the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid committee hire more Latinos and Blacks for its staff and give more contracts to minority-owned companies according to The Chicago Tribune. The criticism followed revelations this week that only 6 percent of Chicago 2016 contracts payments this year went to minority-owned firms. Seventy percent of the bid committee’s paid employees are white.
