Ashford’s services were originally scheduled for Saturday night at 7 p.m. But with Hurricane Irene due to hit the East Coast and New York City, the services will now be held this Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, NY.
Reports confirm Ashford’s cause of death as throat cancer. He was 70.
