Top model Chanel Iman joins actress Nia Long to prove that beauty goes further than just skin deep. This Saturday, the duo will sponsor a holiday celebration for The HerShe Group Foundation, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that aims to empower girls in foster care and those who have been recently emancipated. After a conversation with Long, who actively advocates and volunteers for the group, the 17-year-old Iman and her mother, China, were compelled to get involved.
Iman and Long will kick off the weekend with the HerShe bowling event at Pinz Bowling center in Los Angeles. The festivities will end with a trip to Disneyland.
“The girls are very excited about the HerShe holiday event because for many of them, the gifts that we give them will be the only gifts they receive this holiday season,” says Kenadie Cobbin Richardson, founder and executive director of The HerShe Group. “Why should children in foster care have anything less?”
