Five officers alleged that for years the Minneapolis Police Department allowed them to suffer a racially hostile work environment, a situation that got worse after Chief Tim Dolan took over, according to Minnesota Public Radio. The officers complained that they were unfairly demoted from high-ranking positions and replaced by Dolan’s white friends. The lawsuit was filed in December 2007 and recently settled providing $187,000 for Sgt. Charlie Adams, Lt. Don Harris, and Lt. Medaria Arradondo. Lt. Lee Edwards will receive $137,000 and Sgt. Dennis Hamilton will get $40,000.—WLW
