After two months of playoffs, the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs went head-to-head Thursday night for Game 7 of the NBA finals and after a fiery game, the Miami Heat took the win.
Winning 95-88, Miami Heat was named the 2013 NBA champions and claimed the Larry O’Brien Championship trophy.
Going into Game 7, Heat star LeBron James was under tons of pressure as basketball fans were placing much of the responsibility for the team’s performance on him.
In 2012, the Heat forward won the NBA championship, the MVP trophy and a gold medal at the Olympics. King James appeared to have another win on his mind last night.
“I only came here to win championships,” James told ESPN before the game. “This is why I wanted to be a part of this team.”
This will be James’ second championship ring in two years and the third national championship win for the Miami Heat.
