A Maryland man was taken into custody Tuesday after confessing to killing his fiancée in a 911 phone.

Anthony Miguel Strong told the 911 dispatcher that he had killed Chaunya Michalyn Blackwell in their home after an argument over money, prosecutors told NBC4 in Washington D.C.

“It was the money,” Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office spokesman Ramon Korionoff  said. “They had shared accounts and it seems like his fiancée was taking money from his accounts.”

The 911 call captures a distraught Strong, who told the dispatcher he would wait outside for the police.

“All he said was, ‘It’s bad,’ and then, ‘I killed her,'” the 911 operator told police during a dispatch call.

Police said the victim suffered apparent trauma to her body, however, the medical examiner has yet to release an official cause of death.

Strong was denied bond on Wednesday.
