The United States Senate acknowledged its wrongdoing in never outlawing the lynching of Blacks yesterday, according to the National Newspaper Publishers Association. The apology sheds light on the dark past of America and the Senate’s inaction to approve any of the 200 anti-lynching bills, as nearly 5,000 people were lynched from 1892 to 1968 and 99 percent of those charged of mostly African-Americans were not punished. —CJ
