
A biopic about comedian Richard Pryor has lost its director.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Lee Daniels has left the project due to schedule conflicts.
The Weinstein Co., which is behind the film, declined to comment but producers are on the hunt for someone to take the reigns and have approached a few candidates.

The film already has Mike Epps attached as Pryor, Oprah Winfrey as his grandmother, and Kate Hudson as Pryor’s widow Jennifer Lee Pryor.
The project has been in development for more than a decade and was set to begin filming in March. The project is currently scheduled to start shooting in October. Someone call Spike Lee.
