LeBron James is taking his talents to the small screen with a new sitcom, Survivor’s Remorse.
The Miami Heat star will join forces with the Starz network to develop the show. The series centers around two men from the streets, who suddenly gain fame and struggle to manage relationships with friends and family amidst their success.
James, who entered the NBA at age 18 says he can personally relate to the show’s storyline. “When you make it out, everyone automatically thinks that they made it out and it’s very tough for a young, African-American 18-year-old kid to now hold the responsibility of a whole city, of a whole community. I can relate to that,” said James.
Although James will not star in the half-hour series, he will work behind the scenes as one of the executive producers. His longtime friend Maverick Carter will join him on the project along with The Cosby Show producer Tom Werner.
There’s no word when the show will begin airing.
