Kanye topped the list with seven nominations overall. He garnered nods in the Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Male Video and Best Collaboration for “All of the Lights,” “Power,” and his appearance in Katy Perry’s video for “E.T.”
Beyonce and Nicki Minaj earned three nominations each. Queen Bey is up for Best Female Video, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography for “Run the World (Girls).” Nicki’s “Super Bass” video earned Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Female Video nods.
The awards air live on August 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
