Kanye West-Designed 'Blexit' T-Shirts Encourage Black Americans To Leave The Democrat Party

Kanye West reportedly designed 'Blexit' shirts meant for black people who have "released themselves from political orthodoxy."
Kanye West-Designed ‘Blexit’ T-Shirts Encourage Black Americans To Leave The Democrat Party
By Breanna Edwards · Updated October 23, 2020
Our problematic cousin that we don’t talk about, Kanye West, is back at it again with his shenanigans, designing “Blexit” T-shirts to urge black voters to leave the Democratic Party. Now, before anyone fixes their fingers to type “Black people aren’t monolithic and don’t have to vote Democrat,” let me just assure you that I know, beloved. No one is saying that Black people have to support Democrats. But encouraging all Black folk to “Blexit” the Democratic party is basically doing the same (albeit opposite) thing. But whatever, I digress. According to Page Six, West showed off the new designs on Saturday at Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit where a group of young black conservatives congregated in the nation’s capital. TPUSA’s Communications Director Candace Owens, a well-known black conservative, hyped up the newly launched line on her Twitter, tweeting out “NO MORE ENSLAVED MINDS. AMERICA FIRST.”

At long last, https://t.co/nUoq5DBrzU is launched!!!

“Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” the 29-year-old said, according to Page Six, adding that West “has taken one of the boldest steps in America to open a conversation we have needed to have.”

“For decades, the black community has been in an emotionally abusive relationship with the Democrat Party”

The line, available on Blexit.com, features long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts – in lavendar, orange and teal – with either “Blexit” or “We Free” emblazoned on the front. There is also a weathered hat with “Blexit” in red available.

But Blexit isn’t all about the clothing, according to Page Six, it is a part of a bigger launch that shares stories from Black Americans who have left the Democratic Party.
