Jason Derulo tragically fractured his neck at the start of the year while practicing an acrobatic move for a show. However, he’s well on his way to a speedy recovery and has no one to thank but girlfriend, Jordin Sparks, according to People.com.

“She lives in Phoenix and she comes [to Miami] and takes care of me,” said Derulo, “[She] brings me breakfast in bed and she’ll go on walks with me.”
Derulo says the accident has brought them closer. “It’s awesome to have someone you can talk to and she’s wonderful person.”

Although he may be currently out of commission, canceling all appearances for the time being, he’s busy writing new material for his follow-up album to 2011’s “Future History.”
“I’m going to make another album while I’m done. We’ll see what comes out of that,” Derulo said. “I don’t know what it’s called yet, but it’s really inspired.”
