Jada, who plays Chief Nurse Officer Christina Hawthorne on TNT’s new medical drama “HarthoRNe,” admits that she and her on-screen character both like to fight for the underdog.
Hawthorne goes to bat for her staff and makes sure they don’t fall by the wayside.
Hawthorne gives Dr. Thomas Wakefield (Michael Vartan) a peculiar stare.
Hawthorne listens intently to her coworker.
Jada says that Nurse Hawthorne’s parenting style is unconventional and doesn’t quite mirror her family life or parenting skills.
Jada says that those who think women like herself and First Lady Michelle Obama sacrifice too much for their families have a limited perspective and don’t understand that women are the glue to their family’s foundation.
Jada admits that when folks talk about The First Family they say that her family shares a lot of the same qualities.
“The Obamas have put this on a worldwide level,” says Pinkett Smith. “I hope others will see them and be inspired and not that they are not the only image of this kind of Black family.”
