While Houston fans were getting in formation, police were gathering outside Houston’s NRG Stadium to protest.
During Bey’s hometown stop, members of the Coalition for Police and Sheriffs (C.O.P.S.) gathered to speak out against what they believe is anti-cop imagery.
Tony Ragsdale, a member of the Pasadena Police Department and C.O.P.S., told CBS affiliate KHOU, “Some of her performances we believe to be anti-police.”
The protestors also shined a blue light on the stadium during the concert to make sure their silent protest was seen.

Mitchell Moser, a fan at the concert, told KHOU that he didn’t think the “Formation” singer had was anti-police, “That’s stupid, she’s not against cops.”
Beyoncé has echoed the same sentiment herself.
In an interview for Elle, the singer made it clear that she was not anti-police, “I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe. But let’s be clear: I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things.”
