The star saw the crash outside of his home and pulled the man from his vehicle as it was engulfed in flames.
Jamie Foxx isn’t just a hero in the movies. On Monday, the Annie star jumped into action to rescue a man from a burning car, according to ABC News.
The driver, 32-year-old Brett Kyle, was under the influence when he drove his pickup truck into a drainage ditch near Foxx’s home.
Foxx and a fellow good samaritan assisted the man escape from the car as the wreckage caught fire.
He opened up in an interview, saying that his actions were merely the right thing to do.
“I’m not a hero,” Foxx said, “but [I] had to do something.”
Kyle sustained major head, chest and neck trauma and is expected to be released from the hospital following an extensive stay to recover from his injuries.
On Tuesday, the actor met with Kyle’s father–a moment he captured and posted on Instagram about.
