As Fashion Week in New York City beings to wrap up, consumer giant K-Mart acknowledges its neglect of Black and Hispanic shoppers and has released new sneakers and shoes for the underserved demographics, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Knicks star Al Harrington endorses and helped design their Protégé line for men, while shoes for women included popular styles of Gladiator sandals and faux crocodile. Other retailers, including Sears, are also working on less expensive lines to attract buyers in the midst of a downward economy.—CJ
