The Oakland, California, Police Department is in a state of grievance as three of their own were slain by a parolee over the weekend. Lovelle Mixon, a 26-year-old parolee, shot a total of four officers (one of who is on life support) after being pulled over during a traffic stop. Mixon, who was afraid of returning to jail, shot the two officers who pulled him over. After fleeing the scene, he shot two other as they entered the apartment building he was hiding in. Mixon, who violated his parole, was eventually killed by police officers. Saturday marked the deadliest day the Oakland police department has seen.—PSS
