As the old saying goes, “No story is better than a true story.” This is certainly true when it comes to the extraordinary lives led by some of our favorite celebrities, like TLC’s Lisa ‘Left Eye” Lopes’ who’s life story will be revealed in an upcoming VH1 biopic. As production on that film begins, we’re thinking about other biopics we’d like to see.
There’s the anticipated retelling of Whitney Houston’s life that has everyone from Meagan Good to Rihanna expressing their desire to play the beloved pop icon. Meanwhile, another icon, Aretha Franklin, has been talking about her biopic for a few years now. In 2011 she announced she had been reviewing scripts for a possible biopic, and wanted Oscar winner Halle Berry to play her, though we think Jennifer Hudson would be way more suitable. There’s also been talk of Will Smith’s desire to play President Barack Obama in a biopic. Can you imagine? Epic!
Whether we’ll ever see more of our favorite celebs memorialized on the big screen is still up in the air. For now, let us know which celebrity biopic you’d like to see next.
