After 25 years of longevity, Def Jam Records, the former home to artists like LL Cool J, Run-D.M.C., Kurtis Blow and more, deserves its props and VH1plans to give it to them. This year’s Hip Hop Honors award ceremony will pay tribute to the legendary label and its founders Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin. The ceremony will be hosted by “30 Rock” and “Saturday Night Live” alum Tracy Morgan for the third consecutive year at the Brooklyn Acadmey of Music in Brooklyn, New York, on Tuesday, October 13 at 9:00 P.M. EST. As always, past and present hip-hop luminaries will grace the stage with live performances. —KNB
