Over the weekend, Tyler Perry and his girlfriend Gelila Bekele christend their new born son, Aman Tyler Bekele-Perry with Oprah Winfrey and Cicely Tyson looking on as newly appointed Godparents. Also in attendance at the christening was Jennifer Judson, Yolanda Adams, Bill Withers and Smokie Norful. [Hello Beautiful]

Eddie Murphy Working on New Music

Comedian Eddie Murphy is getting serious about his music career. Murphy had a hit song, “Party All The Time,” back in the 80’s and apparently, he’s been working on new hits for years. “I just kept writing my stuff and doing my stuff privately because I had no pressure and no expectations,” he said. Last month, Murphy released a reggae single, “Oh Jah Jah,” about recent news of terrorism and racial tensions. [Huffington Post]

20 players in Snoop Dogg’s Youth Football League are on their way to Division 1 schools thanks to Snoop’s coaching and mentoring. Snoop and his son, Cordell, will appear in an upcoming reality show, Snoop& Son:A Dad’s Dream, about grooming Cordell and the other players to transition from playing ball in high school to college.
