Holla if ya Hear Me began previews at the Palace Theater on June 2 and officially opened June 19. Some theater industry insiders projected this fate due to the alarmingly low attendance turnout during previews. The play has grossed $942,493 in total, while most Broadway shows rake in an estimated $1 million weekly. The final performance of Holla if ya Hear Me will be July 20. [HollywoodReporter]

Rhonda Lee, the meteorologist fired from a Louisiana TV station after responding to racist remarks about her natural hair, has taken on a new gig with WeatherNation. On her Facebook page, Lee said she wasn’t sure when her new job would begin, but she would be moving to Denver in a couple of weeks. In 2012, Lee responded to a Facebook post by a viewer who said that she needed to grow more hair or wear a wig because of her short natural hair made her look like cancer patient. Lee retorted by explaining that she is a very healthy woman who wears her hair naturally and doesn’t feel that it is necessary to wear it differently.
