Pharrell Williams has officially taken over 2014. The “Happy” singer has been named the new coach on season seven of NBC’s hit show The Voice. Williams and The Voice took to Twitter to alert fans yesterday. “This is going to be so fun ‘WE ARE SO #HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS.'” said the tweet. [Vibe] 

A man involved in a bar brawl with Scandal star Columbus Short is refusing to press charges. Despite the severity of his injuries, the alleged victim wants to solve the issue as amicably as possible due to the fact that they are close to the same people and have family ties. The victim’s lawyers says he hopes to come to some sort of settlement. Short may have a steep bill to pay for in medical expenses if they settle. The victim supposedly suffered a facial fracture, concussion as well as neck and back injuries. [TMZ]
