Pharrell Williams and have settled a trademark dispute over brand names “I Am Other” and “I.Am.Symbolic.” The legal battle began when Pharrell’s company attempted to register the “I Am Other” trademark, which brought conflict with who believed that the name would confuse fans. Williams called the situation “ridiculous” and said that he was a guy “who likes to talk things out.” It appears that he has done so. The parties informed a judge that they have reached an agreement in principle and are drafting a settlement agreement. [HollywoodReporter]

Louis Gossett Jr. has signed on to play Halle Berry’s father on CBS’ summer series Extant. Berry plays Molly, a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family and Gossett Jr. will play her loveable but undependable father Quinn, a retired doctor living in an isolated island community. The science fiction drama, produced by Steven Spielberg, will premiere Wednesday July 9 at 9pm, CBS announced Tuesday. [TVGuide]

Mehcad Brooks is set to join the cast of CW pilot Identity. The story follows Mia, a young New Yorker who learns that she needs an organ transplant to live. Her only relative is newfound half-brother, the son a wealthy Charleston family. She connects with them only to find that they are in the throws of a CIA investigation. Brooks plays Brennan a CIA agent who wants Mia to become his new informant. [Deadline]

Regina Hall has booked a recurring role on the new FX series, Married. The show follows a married couple as they navigate kids, debt and living the suburban life while trying to keep their romance alive. Hall will play Roxanne, the ex-wife of a needy husband who is taking the divorce very hard. When she gets engaged to a new man, her ex-husband still finds a way to make her life difficult.
