The compilation of her “What I Know For Sure” column in O Magazine will cover the many lessons, wise words and insight she has learned over the years. The audiobook will be available September 2nd.
All is not said and done for Arsenio Hall. Following reports that The Arsenio Hall Show was cancelled Hall’s manager John Ferriter says there’s been an “outpouring of support.” Ferriter also says that they’ve already received calls to have the show picked up. Reverend Al Sharpton is set to meet with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to talk about the L.A. Clippers and how the league should handle civil rights issues from moving forward. Will Smith’s next film will tackle the problem of concussions in the NFL. Smith is set to play Dr. Bennet Omalu, the neuropathologist who discovered chronic traumatic encephalopathy in professional football players after the death of Pittsburgh Steeler Mike Webster. The untitled film is said to be a “whistleblower” tale about players who suffer from amnesia, dementia, and depression in the name of the game. [TheRoot]
Mariah Carey and The Dream have settled a three-year legal dispute with Oakland-based songwriters who claim that the singer and producer stole music from their song for “Love vs. Money” which was featured on The Dream’s album. The songwriters have agreed to dismiss all claims and are paying their own legal fees. [RadarOnline]
