Nicki Minaj will take the stage at the 2014 MTV VMAs on August 24. The multiplatinum rapper will perform her buzzy new single, “Anaconda” for the first time on national television. And since Beyoncé is also performing at the VMAs, we wonder if they’ll jump on a duet of their “Flawless” remix? We can dream. Usher and Ariana Grande are also slated to perform.

Jennifer Hudson will release her third album, JHud, on September 23. Previously released tracks include the sassy “Walk It Out” featuring and produced by Timbaland, and “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” featuring T.I.

Just in time for the back-to-school rush, Beyoncé has created the “Back to School Bundle,” which includes totes, notebooks, pencils, pencil cases and t-shirts. The customizable collection costs $75 and is available for pre-order on her website. [Beyonce.com]

True Blood star Rutina Wesley joins Morris Chestnut, Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy on the new Screen Gems film, The Perfect Guy. The all-star thriller tells the story of Leah (Lathan), a woman who thinks she’s met the perfect guy, Carter (Ealy), until she discovers his dark side. Wesley will play Alicia, Leah’s best friend. An extended trailer for the highly-anticipated film, Beyond the Lights, has been released. Directed by Love and Basketball director Gina Prince-Bythewood, Beyond the Lights tells the story of Noni (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a pop superstar who’s success has only left her lonely. She meets Kaz Nicol (Nate Parker), a cop, the night she tries to commit suicide. Noni and Kaz fall fast and hard, despite what anyone around them says. The film hits theaters November 14.
